Following the implementation of the I-SYSTEM portal based on SharePoint 2010 technology, the ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency provides a connected European institution and its partners with a European-wide portal – a centralized and automated workspace – where information is handled in optimal conditions of the institution’s activity.

Bucharest, October 12, 2011 – The CRESCENDO Solutions House and the National Network for Education and Research Administration (ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency) announce the successful implementation of the I-SYSTEM portal, a RoEduNet user and resource management information system, based on SharePoint 2010 technology. The project, funded by European funds through the Sector Operational Program “Increasing Economic Competitiveness”, 2 Priority Axis – Competitiveness through Research, Technological Development and Innovation, required an investment of approximately 130,000 Euros and is part of the RoEduNet Network Development Plan, operated by the ARNIEC Agency.

Following implementation, the ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency provides its employees and institutions connected or to connect to the RoEduNet network (universities, research institutes, schools and high schools in Romania, university hospitals, libraries, museums and cultural institutions) portal that fulfills both the intranet and extranet function, a centralized and automated workspace where all the information necessary for the optimal development of the activity is found.

“Until now, all activities were handled manually, which implied a volume of inefficiently involved resources. Now, requests such as connection, maintenance or interconnection to the RoEduNet network are managed through online forms. Every record is associated with an automated stream, which makes the process run organized, and we have visibility over the status of each document. ” Octavian RUSU, Deputy Director of ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency.

Thus, once the connection request is entered into the system, it goes through an automated flow within the Agency for qualification and approval. After approval, the requester receives a username and password to access the private section of the portal. There, through online forms, they can choose different available services and track their use.

Through the I-SYSTEM portal, the ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency also has a number of new features, such as document management – through which document flow can be monitored – and the management of contacts and institutions / companies in relation to the ARNIEC / RoEduNet Agency. In addition, agency staff have access to a number of predefined reports that allow a clearer view of RoEduNet users.
