24 Apr Iqon and Crescendo implement Vblock platform in a project to strengthen the IT of the Rompetrol Group in Cloud, premiere in South East Europe
Bucharest, 24.04.2012: Iqon and Crescendo have completed the project to strengthen the IT infrastructure of the Rompetrol Group, migration to the private cloud computing architecture Vblock, a premiere initiative for Southeastern Europe.
The project, the largest of its kind in Romania, aimed to provide hardware resources for the adoption of the company’s SAP resource management solution within the Rompetrol Group as well as the consolidation of 575 physical servers and 11 storage systems.
For this investment, the Rompetrol Group estimates an ROI (Return on Investment) of 22%, the main benefits being the optimization of operational costs and the increase of the IT response speed to the organization’s business needs, amid the improvement of all technical parameters of the infrastructure. “Moving the IT & C infrastructure into the Cloud was a success for the Rompetrol Group. From my point of view, the advantage offered by the Vblock platform can be expressed in just four words: best value for money,” says Askar Zhakenov, Group IT Director, Rompetrol.
Within the project, Crescendo teamed with Iqon specialists, system integrator and one of the largest outsourcing players in Romania, as well as the Rompetrol Group, which fully assures the IT function. “Adopting the Vblock platform has provided the Rompetrol Group with a unitary IT infrastructure with a high level of flexibility.
